Australia/ New Zealand On My Mind ….. And Then Some

An exhibition featuring non- objective abstract paintings by Edie Maney

Edie Maney’s new show, Australia/New Zealand on My Mind and Then Some…..will be exhibited at The University Club of Nashville January 3rd through February 28th. The artist’s reception will be held Friday, February 17th, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Maney commented “It is a thrill to showcase a solo show of my new paintings at this fine Art Gallery”.

After spending some time in Sydney and driving through both the North and South Islands of New Zealand, Maney was enchanted with the beauty of the landscape, the vivacious people, the fabulous food, and the pollution free environment. Trying to capture the emotions with several hundred photos was not enough, so Maney decided to translate her photos by painting in her abstract and non-objective manner. She was able to capture the moods and vibrant colors of the surroundings.

The result is a phenomenal body of work. She invites the viewer to become lost in her paintings:like a journey, feeling emotions of pleasure, playfulness and drama. ”and Then Some…..” Includes new works by Maney that are not relevant to her recent trip.
