A Farewell to Dr. Betsy Kerr Hay
During her term as President of the UCN, Dr. Betsy Hay has ushered in many great new ideas, carefully oversaw several intricate changes and left us on a road to a brighter future.

Looking back over the past year, one immediately notices the Club has become more appealing to a wider variety of possible members. Events such as Evening with an Author and the “Getting to Know Nashville” Lecture Series make the Club a platform for discussion and learning on fresh, new topics open to the general public.
The UCN is also undergoing a perpetual “makeover” that began under Dr. Hay’s direction. The Art Committee is constantly updating Club décor, and coming up with ideas on improving our look. Immediate improvements in the Member’s Lounge and Women’s lavatory have taken place, and a collage of portraits of past UCN Presidents lends a sense of history and prestige to our establishment.
One of the most important improvements Dr. Hay and her Board approved is the “Point of Sale” system which electronically tracks and arranges all Club transactions. This provides a more accurate record of our day-to-day finances and will ultimately help our bottom line by telling us what is most profitable.
Dr. Hay’s term as President will have a positive effect on the UCN for years to come.
